Collection: Free.The Brand

Hey earth lovers! I’m Lara - a free spirited soul, surfer and climate change activist. I created Free.The Brand whilst travelling around Asia and Australia.

Until then, I had an unhealthy love affair with impulse buying clothes. But all that changed when I wandered into a boutique shop in Cambodia.

How we began

I found a hand stitched, wildly colourful dress - all hand embroidered by the shop owner. So detailed and unique. It wasn’t cheap but I could see and feel the amount of love and time that went into making this beautiful piece. I saw the pencil embroidery pattern outline on the inside of the dress tracing the design back to its roots.

I felt inspired by the sheer hard work of the dressmaker and unwavering determination of the shop staff not to budge on the price. I understood, respected and appreciated the process behind every intricate detail in that dress.

I was mesmerised and I bought it! That experience formed the seed that later became Free.The Brand.

Sourcing our first fair trade products

In Australia, I got a job in Byron Bay and became more inspired by timeless designs and comfortable clothes with a bohemian beach vibe.

Frustrated by the saturated fashion labels and markets in the area, I’d seen enough.

A friend of mine, who set up her own successful brand in Byron Bay gave me the final push I needed. I spent the rest of my travels sourcing sustainable homeware products and ethical fashion items before returning to the UK.

From fast fashion to conscious shopping and lifestyle

Since then I’ve questioned everything about the fashion industry and fast fashion. I now shop more consciously.

I’m passionate about climate change, reducing plastic pollution and supporting safe, ethical conditions for factory workers. It was a no-brainer for me to create a brand that reflects my core values and supports my burning desire to protect our environment as much as I humanly can.

Everything you buy from Free.The Brand is ethically sourced and produced, supports sustainable living and is non damaging to the environment.
